Data adds to MTN Uganda profit as voice calls slow
MTN Uganda shrugged off a difficult last quarter of 2015 to grow its subscriber base by 10.8% to just under 10 million customers in the first six months of 2016, interim half-year results by parent company MTN Group show.

Dfcu profits rise 70.71% in first half of 2016
Dfcu bank on Friday released provisional half-year results showing a 70.71% growth in net profit and 20.08% growth in net income. Net profit for the period was Shs23.32 billion compared Shs13.66 billion for the first half of 2015.

Stanbic Bank Uganda half-year profits up 57%
Stanbic Bank Uganda has released unaudited half year results showing net profit up 56.9%, while total operating income rose 28%.

MTN Uganda names new CEO
MTN Uganda, the country's biggest company by revenue, has appointed Wim Vanhelleputte as its new CEO, company sources told Uganda Business News. A formal announcement is expected to be made soon. The Belgian is expected to start work on August 1.

Uganda Breweries Ltd is a beverage company. It is one of Uganda's largest breweries, manufacturing beers, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. It owns and markets a number of beers such as Bell Lager, Senator Lager, Pilsner Lager, Ngule, Tusker Lager, Tusker Lite, Tusker Malt Lager, Guinness.

Nile Breweries Limited is a beverage company, and one of the largest beer manufacturers in Uganda. It invested $29 million at its Jinja plant to increase capacity in 2009, and opened a second brewery in Mbarara four years later that was expected to double capacity; the plant was constructed at a cost of $91 million.
