Stanbic Uganda Holdings appointed Francis Karuhanga as its next chief executive and executive director on its board
Stanbic Uganda Holdings appointed Francis Karuhanga as its next chief executive and executive director on its board. Mr Karuhanga will take the role on 1 January. He joins from the parent company, Standard Bank Group, where he was group chief auditor.

Umeme COO to leave company

Umeme's chief operating officer and executive director to step down from both roles after 11 years with the company
Florence Nansubuga, left, at an Umeme event in May 2018. Ms Nansubuga, who has been Umeme's chief operations officer since 2012, and a board member since March 2015, told the company's board on 16 November that she is leaving for another job in the energy/electricity sector. She previously worked for the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company, Umeme's predecessor, on behalf of which it holds the electricity distribution concession. Umeme's concession to operate the country's electricity distribution system expires in March 2025 and will not be renewed, with the government preferring a state-owned utility to take over.
